The challenge within the challenge!

 

From now ‘til May 31st we’ll be introducing 9 mini mileage challenges to keep you motivated on your Run West Ireland journey. By completing a mini mileage challenge you are eligible for some really cool prize packages AND a new digital badge. Nail all 9 mini challenges to qualify for the Over The Rainbow sweepstakes prize packages.

Mini-Challenge #1 — STORM THE CASTLE — January 25 to May 31

Challenge 1:  STORM THE CASTLE 

  • Challenge window:  You have from now until May 31 to complete this challenge
  • Challenge distance: Log 3 miles at one time and earn this badge! It must be this specific distance.

Instructions for uploading your Challenge mileage:

If you use a Garmin or other supported device, your data will sync automatically.

To manually upload your Challenge mileage:

  • Go the the leaderboard to submit your mileage as you usually do.
  • Fill out the date, duration, and 3-mile segment.  It is very important to select the Storm the Castle Segment.

That’s it!!

Anyone who accomplishes this challenge will be placed in a random drawing to earn a pair of Brooks Ghost shoes.  Two lucky winners will be drawn.

This badge will also populate onto your Mini Challenge map on the leaderboard.  To see your challenge map, click on the Mini Challenge tab on the leaderboard.

This challenge is inspired by Ashford Castle. You’ll reach it at mile 87 on your Run West Ireland journey. A little about the castle; if only walls could talk, this 800 year old medieval castle has some history! Over the centuries it has served as a stronghold, as a former home of the Guinness family and has hosted scores of famous guests from Oscar Wilde to a couple of members of the Beatles.

 

Currently, the castle serves as a majestic five-star luxury hotel. Best of luck to you as you STORM THE CASTLE!

Mini-Challenge #2 — LUCKY CHARM — February 1 to May 31

 

Challenge 2:  LUCKY CHARM

Challenge window:  You have from now until May 31 to complete this challenge
Challenge distance: Log 7 miles at one time and earn this badge! It must be this specific distance.

  • Please keep in mind that to claim this badge as your own, it must be 7 miles.  If you go over in your workout, it won’t send you the badge.  If you wish to do a longer workout, hit save at 7 miles and then start a new workout for the rest of your workout.

Mini Challenge 2

Mini-Challenge #3 — CLIFFS TO CASTLE — February 15 to May 31

This challenge was inspired by Ireland’s most visited natural wonder, (outside of the Guinness Storehouse) the mighty Cliffs of Moher and Ballynagowan Castle.

Fun Facts: On your Run West Ireland Journey you’ll reach the awe-inspiring Cliffs of Moher at mile 173. The dramatic cliffs are a jaw dropping 650’ tall and stretch 5 miles along the Atlantic coastline.

Kings. Rebels. Cromwell. Oh my! This 15th century stronghold was witness to volumes of Irish history. Don’t even get us started on the legendary Maire Rua O’Brien. (“The Red Mary”). Today Ballynagowan Castle has a much more peaceful existence as a 21st century castle that you can rent out.

Challenge 3:  CLIFFS TO CASTLE

  • Challenge distance: Log 5 miles at one time and earn this badge! It must be this specific distance. Mini-Challenge #4 — FOUR LEAF CLOVER — March 1 to May 31

Challenge 4: Four Leaf Clover

  • Challenge window: You have from now until May 31 to complete this challenge
  • Challenge distance: Log 4 miles at one time and earn this badge! It must be this specific distance. Please keep in mind that to claim this badge as your own, it must be 4 miles. If you go over in your workout, it won’t send you the badge. If you wish to do a longer workout, hit save at 4 miles and then start a new workout for the rest of your workout.

Anyone who accomplishes this challenge will be placed in a random drawing to earn a $40 Fleet Feet gift card. Four lucky winners will be drawn on June 1, 2021.

Mini-Challenge #5 — ST. PATRICK'S 5K — March 15 to March 28

Challenge 5:  St. Patrick’s 5K Challenge

  • Challenge window:   MARCH 15 – MARCH 28 
  • Challenge distance: We’re coming up on St. Patrick’s Day with our Run West Ireland 502 mile challenge. With that in mind we’d like to officially invite you to this 5K distance challenge. Simply log 3.1 miles as a single activity from March 15 to March 28 and you’ll be eligible to win. 

Anyone who accomplishes this challenge will be placed in a random drawing to earn a pair of Brooks Ghosts and a lucky Shamrock’n trucker hat.  Three lucky winners will be drawn on Monday, March 29.

Mini-Challenge #6 — LEPRECHAUN DASH — March 29 to April 11

  • Challenge window:  You have from  now until April 11  to complete this challenge
  • Challenge distance: Log 4.5 miles at one time and earn this badge! It must be this specific distance. Please keep in mind that to claim this badge as your own, it must be 4.5 miles.  If you go over in your workout, it won’t send you the badge.  If you wish to do a longer workout, hit save at 4.5 miles and then start a new workout for the rest of your workout.

Anyone who accomplishes this challenge will be placed in a random drawing to earn a pair of Brooks Ghosts.  We will choose 2 winners for this challenge on April 12, 2021.

  • Challenge window:  You have from  now until April 25  to complete this challenge
  • Challenge distance: Log 3.4 miles at one time and earn this badge! It must be this specific distance. Please keep in mind that to claim this badge as your own, it must be 3.4 miles.  If you go over in your workout, it won’t send you the badge.  If you wish to do a longer workout, hit save at 3.4 miles and then start a new workout for the rest of your workout.

  • Challenge distance: Log 3.3 miles at one time and earn this badge! It must be this specific distance. Please keep in mind that to claim this badge as your own, it must be 3.3 miles.  If you go over in your workout, it won’t send you the badge.  If you wish to do a longer workout, hit save at 3.3 miles and then start a new workout for the rest of your workout.
